Abstract : is no doubt that the systems and devices documentation film in various forms and types, have emerged since seventies calendar, and has been used by a lot of documentation centers and archives governmental organizations, in keeping documents, circulation and retrieval, and were regarded as a technical favorite at that time, because of their advantages economic and technical, but that the emergence of photovoltaic disk technology, the calendar at the beginning of the nineties, brought a whirlwind of art in those centers, which began turning film and documents to optical disks. And is considered for both the thumbnail film and photovoltaic disks, their knowledge and use of important documents and Science mechanical and electronic archives, especially since the specifications and standards and international standards differ between the two technologies in terms of conservation and search and retrieval and trading. This research is concerned with the consideration of this matters relating to international specifications and standards and with the requirements of electronic documents and archives
