Abstract : Smart phones have become extensively utilized all over the world, owing to their mobility and the newly available technological gadgets and applications that could be downloaded on smart phones and were previously accessible on computers only. During the recent few years, smart phones have been used to browse internet websites, save and transfer information, check email , do business and benefit from thousands of applications. In fact, smart phones have witnessed a huge leap and can now be used for multiple purposes besides communication. It is noteworthy that this advanced technology of smart phones has quickly developed in a very short span of time. As per a study recently conducted by the United Nations, Saudi Arabia is the number one smart phone consumer market in the world, with the highest percentage of smart phone users. Smart phones comprise 46.6% of the all mobile phones; and 47% of the users in Saudi Arabia use smart phone applications in Arabic. Furthermore, mobile phones are widely spread among youngsters under the age of twenty because the internet can be easily accessed in Saudi Arabia. Via internet, users can Download on their smart phones thousands of applications such as social network applications (Facebook and Twitter), chat applications, games, antivirus and other vital and interesting applications. This study attempts at exploring the giant leap in the world of smart phones which has enabled users to access information almost in the same manner as on computers.
