Abstract : A discussion of library and information centers' security is the main focus of the theoretical part of this paper. It reviews the related literature in order to discuss the major threats to library security. Preventive steps and necessary plans and policies are also stressed upon in this study.On the other hand, this paper studies the status of library and information systems security at King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah. It has found that the library does not have written or formal policies or plans regarding library security situations, hence more attention should be given to develop such plans
