This study aimed to reveal the relationship between the different Parental treatment styles(equal excess, cruelty, neglect and extra protection) and personality disorders in a sample of adolescents Saudis. The study sample consisted of (364) students from middle school third grade, and high school grade First and Second (Religious and Scientific), and aged (15-18) years, a mean (16.39), and standard deviation (1,07), Madina province of Medina, and the number of middle schools three schools, and secondary schools six schools. The researcher used the scale Parental treatment styles(preparation Qarni, 1993), and the measure of personality disorders preparation Steven Heller (translation and legalization Abdullah Askar, 2004). To investigate of the hypothesis of the study, the researcher used arithmetic means, standard deviations, correlation coefficients, Anova, and scheffe test. The results showed a correlation between the styles parental treatment of (Father - Mother) and personality disorders among adolescents, the existence of differences between the average scores of adolescents different styles treatment of the father on the personality disorders and the presence of differences between the average scores of adolescents different styles treatment of the mother on personality disorders. In light of the findings, the researcher recommended a number of recommendations, including: development of preventive programs and treatment to ease the severity of personality disorders in children, Preparation and development programs to improve the therapeutic treatment of parents to their children, especially in adolescence and activating the role of associations and centers on family affairs in the normal development styles to deal with the children, those who are on the verge of marriage. |
