Abstract : Present study tried to know the relationships among job stresses of the police coping styles and personality traits in police officers .it tried also to know the differences between high stress police officers and low stress police officers in coping styles and personality traits. the researcher used the descriptive method on a random sample of police officers from different occupational ranks in Jeddah city. it consisted of 100 police officers .the researcher applied the preliminary data sheet ,the Saudi Arabian version of Eysneck scale of personality traits ad coping styles scale. the researcher calculated means standard deviation, T. test and Pearson's correlation coefficients. the researcher revealed the following results:-there are positive statistically significant relationships among extraversion/ introversion neuroticism psychoticism, and jop stresses in police officers. there are positive statistically significant relationships among extraversion / introversion, seeking information, support ,aggression, catharsis and resorting to religion ,and negative statistically significant relationship with retreat. the study proved positive statistically significant relationships among neuroticism, retreat, support, aggression, catharsis and resorting to religion. The study proved positive statistically significant relationships among Lying, retreat support, catharsis , and negative statistically significant relationships with confrontation , seeking information , and resorting to religion . the high stresses police officers were higher in retreat , seeking information , support, aggression , and neuroticism. The low stresses police officers were higher in confrontation and extraversion / introversion .
