Abstract : Evaluation of Users (Doctors and Head Nurses) Satisfaction about Clinical Chemistry Laboratory Services in King Abdulaziz University Hospital By Mamdouh Mohammad Sindi Supervised By Dr. Hamed Khoja SHABAN 1438H- MAY 2017G ABSTRACT Mamdouh Mohammad Sindi Some of the important recommendations of International Organisation for Standardization (ISO 15189:2012) –specifies the quality management system requirements particular for medical laboratories- are: 1) there should be a laboratory advisory panel that is constituted of users (clinicians) to provide advice to the laboratory management. 2) There should be a mechanism to capture customer complaints. Analytical surveys are one of the most important procedures in quality management process to get the feedback from customers, evaluate process and therefore improve services. We used this procedure to evaluate the services provided by The Clinical Chemistry Laboratory at King Abdulaziz University Hospital (KAUH). Our survey covered the tests in all four areas of the lab: routine chemistry, hormones, special chemistry and therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM). Participants of the survey included end users of the lab services; Medical Doctors and Nurses with different positions from different departments in KAUH. The survey outcome was that most of the participants were satisfied about KAUH clinical chemistry laboratory including those using other laboratories services. Two areas of the lab sections; hormones and TDM out of four got more defects compared with the other section of the lab. Solutions to solve these defects should be set to as an improvement step. Overall, in this study, a better understanding of satisfaction of the clinical chemistry laboratory customer at KAUH was provided, as well as the areas of weakness which will be useful in future change.
