Abstract : Search study aims to identify promising areas for the occurrence of groundwater by using remote sensing and geographic information systems in Wadi Na’man, Western Saudi Arabia, through the selection of some hydrogeological important components that have an impact on the occurrence of groundwater. It consists of annual rainfall, rock type, degree of slope, drainage density, the intersection of lineaments (fractures, joints, faults) that occur in rocks and different level of influence of these components in the occurrence of water where they are drawing layer represented by each component separately and gives each component weight ratio at the level of influence (the degree of slope of 24%, lithology 24%, density of drainage 14%, density of rainfall 20%, the density of the intersection of lineaments 18%) and by overlay and integration of those thematic layers are produced a map showing the most promising areas for the presence of groundwater and appoints her degree classification (low, medium, high). The results reveal that overall-rated promising areas (high and medium) representing approximately 21.5 % of the total basin area and are concentrated in sediments Wadis and parts of weathering rock areas and those areas are (upper stream Wadi Majarish, upper stream and middle stream of Wadi Na’man, the downstream of the Wadi Al Kharrar, upper stream Wadi Rahjan and downstream the main Wadi by the cutter to be regarded as the dam stretching from the west to the east and who works on groundwater pool. The quality of groundwater are valid for all types of agricultural crops in general, either for drinking water are limited some parts of the catchment area (the downstream of the Wadi Al Kharrar, and the upper stream Wadi Majarish, and the upper stream Wadi Rahjan), which places that represent recharge areas of the basin.
