Abstract : The thesis discusses the effects of implementing Lean methodology on low voltage cable factory where it enhances the performance of production and time. There are several different tools in the Lean methodology which were used in the research. These techniques include planned maintenance, autonomous maintenance, focused Improvement and overall equipment effectiveness, and daily performance Review. Pilot examples of how the use lean methods which are drum twister and extrusion machine. It is important to understand the current manufacturing process practiced in power cable factory. The practical effects and results of all these tools are highlighted such as the restoration of the drum twister machine transferred it to less breakdowns and speed increase where the production capacity increased by 35% per month, The extrusion machine speed increased by 80%, overall equipment effectiveness of drum twister increased by 26% and 20% for extrusion machine and finally after applying Single-minute exchange of die approach 50% reduction of size change over from 180 minutes to 90 minutes achieved. Therefore, the companies often have to work with lean thinking. Finally, the thesis outlines the advantage and the benefits of incorporating lean methodology into a company’s projects and gives recommendation based on the observations such as top management support for the auditing system to follow-up standards deployment is very important to improve other machine across the factory.
