Abstract : The study aimed to identify challenges to applying knowledge management in the Saudi Company for Pharmaceutical Industries and Medical Supplies "Spimaco", through studying and analyzing challenges (cultural, organizational and technical) to apply knowledge management, and Also to reach suggested mechanisms and ways to treatment these challenges in The pharmaceutical company "Spimaco," the study followed the survey approach ”case study”, where the survey and interview tools were used. The entire study population consisted of (1223) employees, (320) were selected as a sample of the study, They were chosen in a simple random way, The questionnaire was distributed to them, so the returned questionnaires were (304) and the questionnaire consisted of (48) Items. , were divided into four axes. As for the interview, it included primary, personal and functional variables and open questions totaling (11) A question that measures the reality of the company's knowledge management application, proposals and solutions related to challenges related to organizational culture and not Organizational structure, the most prominent results were as follows:The degree of approval rating for the knowledge management application of the Saudi Pharmaceutical Industry Company was "medium" with an average score of (3.00),The results of the interview analysis revealed that the most prominent sources of information approved to obtain information and knowledge in the company: the International Medical Statistics Authority database, international drug data databases and strategic strategic partnership contracts, intellectual property rights, and the SAP system which is the company's database (drug sales, cash discounts, Free medicines, customer types),The degree of estimation of approval of the Items that measure the reality of the organizational culture of the company with a "low" availability with an average of (2.49) and a prominent obstacle motivating employees to share knowledge by providing any knowledge and ideas they have that may lead to improvement in the company's business,and through the results of the interview analysis it was found that the rate of (64%) ) From the members of the interview sample, they see that the level of knowledge and awareness of organizational culture is good and available,The degree of estimation of the total approval of the Items that reveal the organizational challenges related to the organizational structure was "low" with an arithmetic average of (2.56),and through the results of the interview analysis, the percentage (60%) Among the individuals participating in the interview, they reduce the number of organizational challenges related to the organizational structure,The degree of availability of technical indicators supporting the application of knowledge management of the company with a "high" availability amounted to an average of (3,80) arithmetic that does not indicate the presence of challenges,and through the results of the interview analysis it was found that there is a (100%) consensus on the availability of technical and technological capabilities for the application of knowledge management in the company, and The most prominent mechanisms to face challenges in the Saudi Company for Pharmaceutical Industries and Medical Supplies "Spimaco" work to achieve harmony and coordination between the various organizational units and roles through restructuring the organizational departments of the company through the positioning of knowledge management - as a proposed strategic unit - that integrates with the Quality and Control Department and the Corporate Communication Department And the Department of Strategic Planning, the Center for Scientific Research and Pharmaceutical Legislation,to motivate staff to participate in applying management processes. Based on the results, the most prominent recommendations were: Work to establish a specialized department for the application of knowledge management in the Saudi Pharmaceutical Industries Company and a restructuring of the company so that strategic units are incorporated and the formation of the administration of the application of knowledge management in the company, and encourage officials to apply knowledge management and benefit from the proposals to address the shortcomings revealed by the study Current regarding organizational culture, organizational structure and technical systems to enhance knowledge management applications.
