Abstract : This research aimed to identify the problems encountering the intermediate girls regarding the current sports uniform, define the functional and aesthetic requirements, and develop design proposals for school sports uniforms that fit female students' desires. In order to achieve the research objectives, the researcher adopted the "descriptive-analytical" approach and used the questionnaire as the study tool to obtain data. Three questionnaires were used; the first was directed at female students to identify their opinions about the current school sports uniform, while the second was directed at the specialists, and the third was directed at female students to identify their opinions on the proposed designs for the school sports uniform. The research sample included (200) female students in general education schools for the intermediate stage in Makkah city to assess the current uniform, (14) specialists in the field of manufacturing and designing clothes, and (375) female students to find out the extent of their acceptance of the proposed designs. The research concluded that the current sports uniform is aesthetically and functionally improper for female students. The research sought to determine the actual problems and the students’ preferences and desires for school sports uniforms were also reached. Accordingly, (10) suggested designs were made. The statistical results revealed that there were statistically significant differences between the ten (10) designs at a level of significance of (0.01) in achieving the functional and aesthetic aspects according to the opinions of specialists and female students. It was also clear that there was an agreement between the opinions of specialists and female students about the proposed designs. The researcher recommended that the students' preferences and requirements should be taken into considerations when designing and producing school uniforms taking into account the requirements of functional and aesthetic aspects. She also recommended conducting future researches on the school sports uniform for female students to determine whether the needs and requirements of female students differ from other students in other areas.
