Abstract : The study aimed at diagnosing and extracting knowledge management practices in the e-learning environment in light of the applications of artificial intelligence at King Abdulaziz University, by investigating the academics’ perception at the university about the roles that artificial intelligence technologies may play in automating e-learning processes and linking this to knowledge management processes. And measuring the level of knowledge and skill associated with the use of their respective applications at the university from the academics’ point of view, as well as identifying the areas based on knowledge management processes that artificial intelligence techniques may bring to the tasks of academics in the e-learning environment, as well as identifying their perception about the challenges and fears of including artificial intelligence techniques. The researcher used the case study method, the evaluation method, the Delphi method, and the multiple case study method. The researcher also used the questionnaire and content analysis tools to evaluate and achieve the objectives of the study. The total population of the study reached (6,649) of academics at the university, and a random sample of (436) was chosen, and the questionnaire consisted of (83) items distributed over four main axes and artificial intelligence and its applications), and the blackboard system was evaluated based on the criteria of the indicative list that was extracted from the intellectual production. The study reached a set of results, the most important of which were: the degree of approval of the level of knowledge and skill associated with the use of artificial intelligence applications and knowledge management in the university's e-learning system from the academics' point of view was very high. The degree of approval about the most important roles of artificial intelligence in e-learning management systems in light of knowledge management practices is very high. Their perceptions of most knowledge management processes reached a high degree, and the highest was (storage). The study also showed a correlation between the levels of knowledge and skill associated with the use of artificial intelligence applications and knowledge management in the university's e-learning system and their perception of the roles of artificial intelligence in e-learning management systems in light of knowledge management practices, and the highest was (acquisition). The most important areas based on knowledge management processes that artificial intelligence techniques may bring to the tasks of academics in the university's e-learning environment were also identified, which appeared to a high degree and was the highest (adaptation and personalization systems). It also showed the existence of a correlation between academics' perceptions of the roles of artificial intelligence in e-learning management systems and the fields based on knowledge management processes that artificial intelligence techniques may bring to the tasks of academics in the e-learning environment. Finally, a proposal was made to develop the knowledge-based educational environment at King Abdulaziz University in the light of the innovations of artificial intelligence to achieve the requirements of the transition to a knowledge society. The study also presented a set of recommendations, the most prominent of which were: working on developing the necessary plans to build an integrated system derived from the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 with the aim of providing outputs and mechanisms to activate the data of the age and applications of artificial intelligence, as well as providing highly qualified human cadres capable of activating and applying artificial intelligence applications, and that King Abdulaziz University adopts knowledge management practices and artificial intelligence applications to develop the educational process..
