Abstract : Stripmap Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) is a radar imaging method that images fixed scatterers on the ground using a radar placed on a flying platform. The radar platform travels at a constant speed when transmitting and receiving signals. Movement of the radar station facilitates the acquisition of high-resolution images. The output image is a two-dimensional image. The cross-range, or along-track dimension, represents the direction of the platform, and the down-range dimension reflects the height and lighted area of the platform. Two-dimensional correlation is required in the algorithms that construct the SAR image using the matched filter technique. Due to the fact that the received echo pattern varies throughout the range of the data, it is necessary to acquire good resolution at the far ranges from the range center. In all techniques, resolution and focusing are attained at the center of the range, but the difficulty is in the far range from the center, especially in a broad range. This study presents SAR algorithms that utilize the matched filter. In addition, a new streamlined approach will be developed, examined, and compared to existing methods.
