Abstract : This study aims basically at recognizing work pressures on the external auditors in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and studying its influence on their performance and leakage out of the career profession. To achieve that three hypothesis. The significant of this study comes from the lack of studies associated with work pressures especially those related to auditing profession in Saudi Arabia. As required by the nature of the study, a theoretical cross-over procedure was followed to reach a comprehensive hypothetical model for study, through reviewing the related literature. A descriptive analytical procedure was followed in practical field to reach appropriate generalizations and a questionnaire method was used as a tool to collect field study data. The study showed that, a relationship exists between work pressures and the external auditor’s performance, the auditors leakage out of the career, and some individual auditors characteristics. In addition, the study shows that the older, and more experienced, and highly functional external auditors have less work pressures. According to study results, the researcher gives some recommendations which may help in improving the work environment of auditors in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Finally, the study recommends undertaking more studies related to behavioral aspects of auditing profession in Saudi Arabia.
