Abstract : Abdul Quddus Al Ansari was born in AlMadinah AlMunawarah in 1906 AD/1324 H. As an orphan; he was brought up by his kinsman Sheikh Mohammed AlTayib AlAnsari-one of the greatest masters of his time-AlAnsari was his student as well. Later on, he entered the school of Islamic sciences and after four years he commenced a high certificate in the Arabic language sciences. Later, he worked in the state bureau of AlMadinah, then in the vice King bureau of AlHijaz. He also worked in the ministers council. In addition, AlAnsari entered the world of journalism and he was a member in several local and Arabic committees. AlAnsari is a writer, linguist, journalist and researcher in history and archeology. Morevoer, he broke several New grounds. He was the first Saudi researcher in archeology. Further, he worte the first text on the archeology of AlMadinah. He also wrote the first Saudi novel. Furthermore, AlAnsari was the owner of the first Saudi Literary review. AlAnsari compiled many literary and linguistic texts. Nevertheless, his historical writings were the most prominent ones among all his writings. We find books, lectures and articles covering different local history topics, civilization, biographies and genealogies. AlAnsari resembles, in his thoughts and in historical writing method, those early Muslim historians; especially in writing about the history of towns and cities and also in joining history, language and literature. However, his style was free from judaica, myths and tales of saints. His high cultivation and education had a great impact on his approach (an extensive treatment of historical text). He was very complying with publishing his writings in an encyclopedic Form. His writings exemplify his intense interest in the Arabic and Islamic traditions. This was clear in his dealings with the orientalists and their opinions. In addition, his writings show a vested interest in archeology, language, literature. Further, using the literary and linguistic examples and accounts in his writings is an obvious characteristic of his style.
