Course Learning Objectives
Design a noise-filtering instrumentation amplifier for amplifying low-level differential signals with high common mode voltage
Describe techniques used to display, process, characterize, and analyze biosignals including ECG, EMG, and evoked potentia
Sketch and Describe block diagrams for a variety of medical devices used in hospitals (laboratory, therapeutic, blood pressue and blood flow measurements)
Develop the ability of self learning.
Choose sensors AND design instruments to monitor a physical phenomenum
Explain the concept of operation of multiple devices in the medical field
Develop the ability to design instruments to satisfy specific needs
Recognize the principles of electrical safety and the potential hazards in the laboratory and clinical environments
Cooperate efficiently as a team member in completing laboratory projects
Develop skills important for self learning such as problem solving and critical thinking.


EE471 ABET Course Expectations
A Graduate of the class EE471 will be evaluated based on the level of knowledge in the following areas:
PO_A: The Graduate of the Electrical and Computer Engineering at King Abdulaziz University is expected to demonstrate an ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, science, and engineering as well as a knowledge of advanced mathematics and electrical and computer engineering sciences necessary to analyze and design devices and systems appropriate to the program name.
PO_B:An ability to design AND conduct experiments, analyze and interpret data.
PO_C:an ability to design a system, component, or process to meet desired needs within realistic constraints such as economic, environmental, social, political, ethical, health and safety, manufacturability, and sustainability
PO_D:The Graduate of the Electrical and Computer Engineering at King Abdulaziz University is expected to demonstrate an ability to function on multi-disciplinary teams.
